- Bia Hoi, Hanoi. Children’s plastic chairs on the side of the road. Bia Hoi drinking from a barrel. 2000 Dong per glass (5 Pence). Mango, apple, melon and spices available to eat if you so wish.
- Hoi An, beautiful little harbour town on the edge of the East China Sea.
- Nha Trang, beach town. I got up at 4.30am to join the hundreds of Vietnamese in exercising at dawn, but ended up just watching in awe as the sun seemingly emerged from the bottom of the sea. Also sang Karaoke surprisingly well in Vietnamese (still not a justifiable reason for doing it I know!).
- Ho Chi Minh City, (Saigon). Lots to do here, although I am not a great fan of war tourism there are Vietcong tunnels nearby. I ended up just immersing myself in the chaotic yet effervescent city life.
